National History of Alpha Delta Pi
Founded May 15, 1851 at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, Georgia,
Alpha Delta Pi holds the distinction of being the first secret society for women and the mother of today'ssorority system.
We were founded on the principles of scholarship, leadership, service to others and sisterhood.
These principles still guide the policies and programs of the sorority today.
To date, Alpha Delta Pi has initiated more than 182,500 women,
many of whom are actively involved in one of our over 130 collegiate chapters or 150 alumnae associations throughout the United States and Canada.
Theta Gamma History
Theta Gamma Chapter is the newest National Panhellenic sorority at Sonoma State University!
In the spring of 2007 the local sorority Chi Delta made the choice to become an international NPC group.
Alpha Delta Pi was selected to be this group and we colonized in the fall of 2007 and became an official chartered chapter on November 10, 2007.
79 Delta members were initiated into the sisterhood.
We are the 195th chapter opened by Alpha Delta Pi since our beginning in 1851.
We had a variety of events through out our first semester including celebrating Bid Day,
having meetings, formals and mixers, electing officers, participating in philanthropic events, a colony and chapter retreat, and our Installation banquet.
